Mirrors of Paradise

In order to travel into the future, it is necessary to walk toward the pure clarity of the past.
-CARUNCHO, inspired by PETRARCH
In the summer, the wheat is tall and golden and the great plots sway gently in the wind. There is fruit in the orchard. Autumm brings the grape harvest and the cutting of the wheat. In winter the earth is plowed and sown and marked by wonderful patterns. And in the spring, once again, all is a sea of green. What could be more than producing flour from the wheat, wine from the vines, oil from the olives, and fruit from the trees? In a sense this is the first garden with all the purity of a Platonic ideal.
